The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation donated $128,000 to 56 food banks across Montana and delivered a truckload of food to the Missoula, Montana Food Bank.

The food from the foundation, approximately 800 pounds, was collected at various Christmas parties held by the different Washington Companies, which employ about 1,800 workers in Montana.

"To get into the party, you had to bring some sort of food or personal care item," said Mike Halligan, Executive Director. "What we've always done with the foundation is make sure that the employees have some way to take part in the charitable giving that we do here."

The foundation had previously made annual donations to the Montana’s largest food banks, but decided to increase the effort this year.

The foundation has handed out more than $100 million since its creation.
