Envirocon, Inc., a leading provider of environmental remediation, geotechnical solutions, and demolition construction services, is proud to announce the award of a task order issued by the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest under the Performance-Based Environmental Remediation Multiple Award Contract (PERMAC II).
Envirocon and AECOM Technology Corporation combined to form a joint venture to win the contract, allowing each company to highlight its technical expertise on a large government contract. Under the joint venture, Envirocon will provide technical construction and remediation expertise while AECOM will provide engineering expertise and serve as the managing partner.
"We look forward to providing NAVFAC with world-class environmental solutions through the integration of AECOM's engineering and management expertise and Envirocon's remediation and construction capabilities," stated Sherry Gibson, Director of Government Services.
The AECOM-Envirocon joint venture was one of six entities awarded the PERMAC II Contract by NAVFAC in March 2011. The total shared contract ceiling is $500 million for environmental remediation services. This task order of the Multiple Award Contract was issued in September 2011 and awarded to AECOM/Envirocon. It will require remedial design and remedial action at the former Marine Corps Air Station located in El Toro, California.
Chris Penza is enthusiastic about the award under the PERMAC II contract. "We are proud to have been selected for this task order," he says, "we look forward to supporting the Navy in fulfilling its environmental mission."
