2010 President’s Annual Recognition Awards
Envirocon proudly announces Mr. Greg Church and Mr. Bill Soyring as recipients of the 2010 President’s Annual Project Management Recognition Awards. Mr. Church is the recipient of the 2010 Project Manager Recognition Award for his outstanding leadership as Project Manager on the large and complex DOE Atlas/Moab Tailings Project, while Mr. Soyring was chosen to receive the 2010 Project Superintendent Recognition Award for his efforts on a number of successful demolition projects this past year.
The President’s Awards are the yearly recognition of those individuals selected by Management as role models who have demonstrated Envirocon’s core values and capabilities through the successful management of their projects.
Mr. Church as been with Envirocon since 2001 and over the past three years, he has served as Project Manager on the DOE Atlas/Moab Tailings Project in Moab, Utah. The Atlas/Moab project involves the excavation and load-out of radioactive tailings. Under Mr. Church’s supervision, the project team has conditioned and shipped approximately 3 million tons of residual radioactive material to date. Mr. Church is responsible for managing field operations at the site and has successfully overcame a number of challenges associated with the project’s round-the-clock schedule, hiring restrictions, and multi-stakeholder involvement.
Mr. Soyring also demonstrated outstanding leadership and management skills in 2010. He has served as a Project Superintendent on several challenging demolition projects for Envirocon including: the Hastings-on-Hudson Cable Plant Demolition, the Whitney Canyon Sour Gas Plant Demolition, and the San Ardor Tank Demolition project. Mr. Soyring’s 15 years of demolition experience has allowed him to direct safe and successful demolition field operations on every project he oversees. His diligent planning, proper and safe execution of work activities, and strict attention to detail have produced positive results that often lead to follow-up work from our valued clients.
There were a number of outstanding nominees for this award making final selection difficult. From the diverse and deserving candidate pool, the selection committee chose Mr. Eldon Penn as the 2010 Project Manager runner-up and Mr. Verne Musser as the 2010 Superintendent runner-up.
