Auction Fundraiser for Children Gives Employees New Way to Give Back

As a member of the Washington Companies, headquartered in Missoula, Montana, Envirocon often teams up with its sister companies to give back to the Missoula community. This month, employees of the various companies participated in MRL Auction Partners online auction benefitting the Watson Children’s Shelter.

Between May 14th and May 26th, employees of the various Washington Companies, including Envirocon, privately bid via secured website on 70+ items including a week vacation in Las Vegas, tickets to sporting events, luxury condo getaways, and a children’s pony birthday party on a private ranch. The auction raised approximately $8,000 for the shelter.

Items were donated by local Missoula community members and businesses with all proceeds from the auction benefitting the Watson Children’s Shelter in hopes of aiding the organization in its effort to raise money for construction of a second shelter.

Watson Children's Shelter is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children who are victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment or family crisis. Founded in 1977, Watson Children's Shelter has turned thousands of young lives around with shelter, safety, food, attention, clothing, emotional support and access to medical care. Each year, the facility opens its doors to 70 to 100 children across Western Montana ranging from infancy to age 14.

Last year, the organization received 130 applications and had to turn away 42 of them. With donations such as those from the Washington Companies, Watson Children’s Shelter is currently under construction on their second shelter.
