Holiday Personal Care Item Drive

While many organizations across the country hold food drives during the holiday season, Envirocon along with several other Washington Companies participated in a personal care item drive this season to assist those in need of more than just food. Through the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation and the Missoula Food Bank, employees of The Washington Companies were able to collect over 320 pounds of personal care items for various food banks around the Missoula community. Items included: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, detergent, soap, razors, deodorant, floss, mouthwash, and much more.

"It was a thrill to see the volume of personal care products we were now able to offer our clients," said Patricia Rose of the Missoula Food Bank. "We were excited and grateful and want to publicly thank everyone who made this wonderful gift a reality."

Established in 1988, The Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation is the major philanthropic organization for the Washington Companies which includes Envirocon, Montana Rail Link, Modern Machinery and several others. These privately held companies specialize in the industries of rail and marine transportation, aviation, environmental remediation and restoration services, real estate, heavy equipment sales and service, and mining. The Foundation is funded by the profits of the Washington Companies and since its inception, Foundation giving and the Washington Family's personal contributions to charitable causes total more than $60 million.
