Pay It Forward Community Giving Program a Huge Success
The Pay it Forward program was unveiled in February 2008 as an employee-giving program which was sponsored by the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation. This program involved the random distribution of $250 VISA Gift Cards to 220 people who were to use them to make a donation to the charitable cause of their choice. The main goal of this program was to allow employees to experience philanthropy in their own communities.
Forty-four Envirocon employees were selected to receive the Pay it Forward Gift Cards and were asked to share their stories of giving on the Washington Foundation website www.dpwfoundation.org. The program was a resounding success with donations to a wide variety of very worthy causes. The following are a list of organizations that benefited from this significant community-giving program:
