Clean Closure of the City of Rilato Disposal Site
Envirocon received the Notice of Award from the City of Rialto for the closure of a landfill disposal site in Rilato, CA. Envirocon provided the most competitive pricing and was selected from a group of four contractors. The project began in May and is scheduled be completed in October of this year. Envirocon is completing the work on an aggressive schedule to facilitate immediate development of the property.
From 1979 to the 1990s the disposal site received waste that was primarily street sweepings, tree trimmings, roadbed waste, and construction debris. No hazardous wastes were ever disposed of on the site. Two feet of clean soil currently covers the waste material. Envirocon's scope of work includes excavation of 137,000 cy of material, screening to remove debris, and blending the material with borrow and import material. The material will then be replaced and compacted as engineered fill.
