River Point at Sheridan
Sheridan, Colorado
In September of 2006, Envirocon began work on a substantial contract to excavate two landfills located in Sheridan, Colorado, a southwest Denver suburb. These landfills operated from the 1950's to the 1980's and accepted unregulated municipal solid waste (MSW).
The scope of work for this project entails the excavation, sorting, loading, transport, and disposal of 650,000 cubic yards of MSW trash, underground storage tanks and petroleum contaminated soil. Due to the close proximity to residences, a detailed plan has been developed to mitigate odors and control blowing trash and a public relations campaign has been organized to keep the residents apprised of site activities. The duration of this project is anticipated to be 10 months. In order to accomplish this, Envirocon will employ a minimum of 30 haul trucks per day, working 7 days per-week, and 20 hours per-day. Envirocon will use state-of-the-art GPS equipped excavators and dozers to ensure that excavation depths and backfill elevations are to precise lines and grades. Envirocon will continue to work with the client to provide value engineering that may reduce project costs and accelerate the project schedule. As the project progresses construction of a high-end retail center will begin.
