Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation Named Outstanding Foundation of the Year

photo 2The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation was recently recognized as the “Outstanding Foundation of the Year” by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). The AFP is an organization that advances philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice ethical and effective fundraising. Throughout the year, they accept nominations for six different categories. The Foundation was nominated by the Montana State Alliance of the YMCA’s for the services and innovative programs funded throughout the state. This was the first year to receive the prestigious nomination.

At the annual National Philanthropy Day Dinner and Awards, held in Billings, Montana the Foundation was awarded first place for their successful efforts impacting the lives of children and families in the state of Montana.  Six people from the Foundation attended the event, and the award was accepted by Executive Director, Mike Halligan.

The Washington Foundation’s mission is investing in people to improve the quality of their lives and since its inception, Foundation giving and the Washington’s Family’s personal contributions to charitable causes has totaled more than $145 million.  Alongside the Washington Foundation, Envirocon is proud to participate in philanthropic efforts throughout the year, including Habitat for Humanity, Bowl for Kid’s Sake, Run for Kids, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
