Families Gather for Christmas Classic

For the eighth year, Envirocon employees and their families enjoyed an evening of theatre at the Washington Companies’ annual winter fundraiser at the Missoula Children’s Theatre. This year, in A Christmas Story: The Musical, the mischievous 9-year-old Ralphie somehow managed to make it through his childhood without “shooting his eye out.” This iconic family favorite brought back the familiar playground “triple dog dare,” the neighborhood bully, and even the leg lamp.  Also in attendance of the sold out production were other Washington Companies’ including Washington Corporation, Montana Rail Link, and Modern Machinery. The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation matched all ticket sales, which totaled $1,220, and the combined proceeds of $2,440 went to support the Children’s Museum Missoula: Putting Families First! Additionally, over 290 lbs. of non-perishable food donations and pet food donations were collected at the door and given to the Missoula Food Bank.

The Foundation’s mission is investing in people to improve the quality of their lives, and since its inception in 1988, Foundation giving and the Washington Family’s personal contributions to charitable causes have totaled approximately $200 million.
